Clarinet and Bass Clarinet, musikFabrik, Cologne, Germany (2010) : including the premiere of Harrison Birtwistle’s oratorio, Angel Fighter, in BachFest Leipzig. Future engagements include the premiere of Stockhausen’s SONNTAG aus LICHT in 2011.

Highlighted Solo and Chamber Performances:

  • In recital with pianist, Kate Ledger: performances across the UK include recitals in York, Huddersfield, Doncaster and Leeds; additionally we have performed at the Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music and at the Theater de Regentes in Den Haag, where we worked with Louis Andriessen on his piece for clarinet and piano, Double. We have also performed in the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in 2009, and in 2011 will produce our first CD on the associated label.
  • In recital with pianist Sophia Russell and violinist Elena Jauregui: performances at multiple venues in London including The Space and The Forge; young composer workshops at Leeds and Huddersfield universities.
  • In recital with bass clarinettist Sarah Watts; recitals in Sheffield, London and Edinburgh. Future plans include a residency at the Royal College of Music in London in 2011, where we will be working with composer Pierluigi Billone on his 70-minute work for two bass clarinets, 1+1=1.
  • Solo recitals include performances of solo works by Liza Lim, Bryn Harrison, Georges Aperghis, Ben Isaacs, Salvatore Sciarrino, Giocinto Scelsi at venues in London, Huddersfield and in Canada. Additional solo performances include working with Fred Frith at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in 2007, improvised work based on the light sculptures of James Turrell at the Louis T. Bluin Foundation in London, performances of new works for clarinet and electronics at the Bangor New Music Festival in Wales and a collaborative installation with Dylan Robinson, Karen Schaller and Benjamin Oliver, based on Donatoni’s Soft for solo bass clarinet, at Mandela Hall in Sussex.
